Set up of representative office in China

After China entered into the WTO last year, foreign companies are now focus on the huge local market in China. One may consider the set up of a representative office to conduct market research, set up business contact and introduce new products. The requirements of establishing a representative office in China are as follows:

   The applicant should be an enterprise has been incorporated at least one year before the application

   Registered capital of the enterprise should not be less than HK$100,000

  Certificate of Credit issued by the financial institution

  Contract for renting office

  The resume of each resident representative

  Legal business license or document of the same effect issued by the authority of the country or region where the enterprise is located

  Tax certificate issued by the authority of the country or region where the enterprise is located
